What You Will Do

As the Senior Nordic Power Trader you will develop and manage trading ideas/strategies in the Nordic and European electricity markets. This includes contributing to the fundamental analysis and modelling of the Nordic power market as well as working with the analysts and traders to develop wider market strategies. You will also;

  • Follow, understand and be able to explain news stories about the Nordic electricity networks, markets, companies and regulations.
  • Support and develop the bilateral trading and origination businesses.
  • Work with the gas and emissions traders to develop and execute cross commodity strategies.
  • Point of contact for Nordic power regulations, including proposed changes and consultations.
  • Accurate daily reporting of trades, positions and P&L.
  • Management of trading risk; within agreed limits and due regard to market liquidity.

What You Will Bring

As the Senior Nordic Power Trader you will have demonstrable and consistent delivery of revenue in the Nordic Power Market. With your detailed knowledge and understanding of power generation, transmission, and supply you will be able to explain a complex technical subject to an audience of differing skills and experience. To be successful in this role you will also have:

  • Several years trading in the Nordic and European electricity markets
  • Track record of making appropriate decisions in time critical situations
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Able to work independently, and across the trading team and wider organisation.
  • IT and programming skills.
  • Fluent in English, additional European languages preferred.
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience.
