As the Senior Application Support Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of our critical applications. You will be responsible for conducting relevant scheduled checks for all critical applications and providing comprehensive status summary reports to IT leadership and third-line teams. You’ll build and nurture day-to-day working relationships with the business community to continuously enhance the services offered by the support function.
What You Will Do
Your responsibilities will include service request fulfilment, including collaborating with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensuring timely completion on relevant applications. You’ll take charge of managing production incidents, demonstrating complete ownership until incident closure. This involves providing regular updates on issues and collaborating with relevant support teams to minimise downtime and disruption.
In this role, you will actively contribute to the execution of core team processes, such as Change Management, Problem Management, Quarterly Application Audits, and Application Server patching. You will also be involved in identifying underlying issues, providing short-term workarounds or fixes, and liaising with development teams on long-term solutions.
You will oversee the deployment of application code on all production and pre-production environments across various applications based on the release schedule. This includes managing all business communications and ensuring post-release environment availability. Additionally, you will contribute to the team’s knowledge management repository, ensuring that operational, application support handover, and process documents are kept up to date.
Collaboration with third-party vendors to support end-to-end application operations will be part of your role, along with leading more complex tasks compared to non-senior roles. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the success of our application support function and ensuring the seamless functioning of critical business applications.
What You Will Bring
• University degree in Science/Computer Science or relevant technical IT degree or diploma,
• Professional experience in the area of Application Support and 1st/2nd line support and delivery
• Experience in managing incidents within an ITIL framework
• Strong affinity for business processes, ideally in the Trading or other support functions.
• Proficient in MS Project, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and enthusiastic in dealing with complex trading landscape
