The Developer has multiple responsibilities within the organization. Their time is focused primarily on software delivery responsibilities. These Software delivery responsibilities will vary over time but are focused on the development of applications and processes that ultimately enable and support the trade lifecycle. It is expected that a Developer will work on a portfolio of different software products and technology stacks during their time in the organisation and will while continuing to grow and improve their knowledge and skills for their career.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality, test-driven object-oriented software. You will collaborate closely with the Vertical Leads, including Delivery, Technical, QA, Architecture, and Functional teams, to ensure the alignment of work delivery with agreed timelines and business objectives. You will liaise with and provide support to business analysts and key stakeholders from across the end user community.
Working alongside the Technical and Architecture leads, you will support the technical engineering and delivery of a portfolio of applications, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices. Understanding the technical needs and dependencies with other applications and teams, you will manage these aspects with Lead Developers and Architects to implement appropriate technical solutions.
A key aspect of the role involves striving for architecture and design consistency, participating in code reviews, and promoting the adoption of consistent development technologies across applications to enhance SEFE’s overall landscape. You will also collaborate with the Vertical Tech Lead and Architects to identify, minimise, and address technical debt, while contributing to the software development roadmap, patterns, and principles.
What You Will Do
• Self-starter who is commercially aware and value focused. Able to work with minimal supervision and guidance
• Ability to work in an everchanging environment, where priorities shift regularly
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to hold and direct a conversation with non-technical members of the organization
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Ability to explain a technical subject to a non-technical audience
• Can demonstrate excellent technical authority to have the credibility to direct a talented team
• Proven experience coaching and mentoring more junior developers. Individuals with potential to move in this direction will be considered.
• Ability to balance ideal solutions with practical delivery of requirements
• Enterprise Developer experience on complex projects with C# .Net and a web UI framework i.e., Vue, Angular, Blazor, etc.
• Experience within a trading or data intensive organization would be an advantage e.g., commodities, financial, betting etc.
Technical Knowledge
• Knowledge of Design Patterns, SOLID principles
• Microsoft .NET, C#, WebAPI is required, and OAuth2 would be an advantage
• Experience with SQL (Microsoft SQL Server or similar) is required, and MongoDB would be an advantage
• Experience of continuous integration and deployment, Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of a messaging patterns is required, and experience with RabbitMQ or Kafka would be an advantage
• Experience with Azure Platform development including IaC using terraform would be an advantage
• Experience in modern web UI frameworks (Vue.js, Angular, Blazor) would be an advantage
• Typescript would be an advantage
• Knowledge of SpecFlow and TDD would be an advantage
